Littleton Regional Hospital – 2012

The design and construction of a new Medical Office Building totaling 56,000 square feet.  Project included blasting of solid ledge to within 25 feet of the existing hospital and construction of an enclosed and covered connection to the existing complex to correct falling snow and ice issues.  The project incorporated the latest construction technologies in regard to energy efficiency, including spray foam insulation, high efficiency windows, a geothermal heating system and energy efficient lighting.  The result was a complex that uses 77% less energy per square foot to operate than the 10 year old complex right next to it.

The project also included the design and construction of a 10,000 square foot Med/Surge (Recovery Room and Staff Space) addition along with a permanent MRI installation.  Work required excellent coordination with the Hospital staff and Infectious Control supervisor.  The final phase  involved the fit-up of Operating Room #4.  Again, with surgery taking place on the opposite side of the wall from the work area, excellent coordination with the Hospital staff was imperative.
